Rep. Steve Scalise and others ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for saying Republicans are “domestic enemies.”
“Disgusting: Nancy Pelosi just called Republicans ‘domestic enemies.’ I was shot because of this kind of unhinged rhetoric. Where’s the media outrage?” Scalise tweeted, referring to when he was shot during a practice session for the Congressional Baseball Game in 2017. The shooter, James Hodgkinson, had posted on social media comments such as “Republicans are the Taliban of the USA” before the shooting.

Pelosi joined MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin on Monday and said President Trump’s goal is “to scare people from voting” and added that he and his Republican colleagues are “domestic enemies.”
“We take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. And sadly, the domestic enemies to our voting system and our honoring our Constitution are right at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., with their allies in the Congress of the United States,” she said, adding “diminishing the role of the Postal Service” makes them “enemies of the state.”
Others joined Scalise in denouncing Pelosi’s comments, with some calling the remarks “unhinged.”
In 2016, they called you “Deplorables.”
Now, Nancy Pelosi calls all Republicans “domestic enemies.”

This attack is particularly egregious from a sitting Speaker who represents the body as a whole. If we cannot agree on condemning even this language, we have lost any sense of decorum or decency in our public debate. https://t.co/JRWjAYoTE9

Nancy is controlled by the far-left. She continues to say things that escalate division in this country and now she’s labeling those who are in a different political party “enemies”. Nancy, you once said our words should calm and unite. What changed?https://t.co/SjrD8nmfwT

This is crazy coming from someone who literally abused impeachment power for her own party’s political purposes. But Democrats consistently allege against Trump and Republicans all the things they themselves are doing. It’s Pelosi who is the domestic enemy of the Constitution. https://t.co/FWHORcb5m4

The Speaker called Republicans "enemies of the state?!" Assuming there will be unanimous bipartisan support to condemn her remarks, and widespread media condemnation. Right? https://t.co/Wg4kGx30AB

The Speaker of the House of Representatives just called the President of the United States and Republicans in Congress "domestic enemies… enemies of the state."
Her words are beneath the office of Speaker and she should resign immediately. pic.twitter.com/W6PLBxXN6c
