President Biden’s rough week in the media continued on Friday. The president had a number of disturbing stumbles that appear to be both significant and relevant to performing his job as Commander-in-Chief.

Biden’s most talked-about moment can when he snapped at a reporter who asked him about the potential withdrawal of troops from Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan.

“I want to talk about happy things, man!” Biden responded.

“We’re on track exactly as to where we expected to be,” Biden continued. “There will be some forces left. But it’s a rational drawdown with our allies.”

“I’m not going to answer anymore on Afghanistan. It’s Fourth of July,” Biden added. “I’m concerned that you guys are asking me questions that I’ll answer next week. It’s the holiday weekend. I’m going to celebrate it.”

The president also made a baffling ‘update’ Reagan’s famous ‘Morning in America’ political ad.

“Ronald Reagan was telling us ‘It’s morning in America.’ Well, it’s getting close to afternoon here. The sun is coming out,” Biden said. Naturally, the nonsensical statement also garnered attention.

Beneath the radar, however, Biden made a serious stumble, even as it came in the form of a hedged statement. He could not remember certainly if he had met with the Afghan president at the White House earlier this week.

“And I think I met with the Afghan government here in the White House, in the Oval,” he said.

The president indeed met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani at the White House on June 25. The two discussed the possibility of ending a war that has gone on for two decades.

If the president is unable to say for certain he met with a world leader this week in the White House, then it is questionable whether he recalls the details of that meeting. Furthermore, it is doubtful that the president can set smart policies based on such shaky knowledge.

While Speaker Nancy Pelosi floated the 25th amendment late in Donald Trump’s term, many political observers, including Donald Trump himself, believed her invocation of the constitutional method of removing a president who is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” was actually directed at Biden.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is looking at the 25th Amendment in order to replace Joe Biden with Kamala Harris,” Trump tweeted before it was eventually deleted.

But now President Biden’s behavior is getting so concerning that it might give pause even to Americans who aren’t detractors of the Democratic Party. If a president can’t even remember the world leaders he met at the White House this week, is it possible that he has ceased to be a ‘world leader’ at all?
