Teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg has thrown her support behind Joe Biden.
Thunberg, 17, made the presidential endorsement on Saturday morning. She said that while she doesn’t like to get involved in party politics, Biden is the best choice to protect the climate.
“I never engage in party politics. But the upcoming US elections is above and beyond all that. From a climate perspective it’s very far from enough and many of you of course supported other candidates. But, I mean…you know…damn! Just get organized and get everyone to vote #Biden,” the Swedish environmentalist said.

She made the endorsement by quote-tweeting an article by the Scientific American, which broke 175 years of tradition by endorsing a presidential candidate, Biden, for the first time.
“We do not do this lightly,” the editors of the magazine wrote. “The evidence and the science show that Donald Trump has badly damaged the U.S. and its people — because he rejects evidence and science.”
Thunberg grew to international prominence after skipping school to protest the effects of climate change. She also sat outside the Swedish Parliament to further demonstrate for her cause. Thunberg became the youngest person to be named Time magazine’s Person of the Year. A video that caught Thunberg glaring at President Trump at the United Nations headquarters went viral in 2019.
With 24 days until the election, Biden is polling ahead of Trump nationally and in key battleground states. A RealClearPolitics average of national polls has the former vice president ahead by a 9.6-point margin.
