Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has suggested states should decide how to handle reopening.

During Friday’s press briefing, she was asked what the White House thinks states with an increase in cases should do to stop the virus. She responded by saying the administration has faith in states’ abilities to control the outbreak.

In the meantime, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has sent teams to assist four states.

According to the secretary, the pandemic remains one of the president’s top priorities.

“Absolutely, it’s still a priority. It’s why the task force meets regularly. The president has given that information, the vice president has been leading on the task force. The president ultimately makes the decisions and is constantly kept up to date with the latest numbers.” – Kayleigh McEnany, Whiter House Press Secretary

She went on to reassure the public the coronavirus task force has been working with governors across the nation to coordinate safe reopenings.
